Stargazing Tours - sternenguide.tirol

The starry sky in dark, remote Tyrolean alpine valleys is an unforgettable sight.

Up to 3000 stars can be seen here with the naked eye. In comparison, in most bright cities nowadays less than 100 stars are visible in the night sky due to light pollution. Some people even never have seen the bright belt of our galaxy, the Milky Way, before.

As sternenguide.tirol I will take you on a walk through space at special observing sites in the Tyrol. Get to know the most important constellations, their beautiful stories from all over the world and try your hand at observing planets, star clusters, galaxies and cosmic nebulae with professional telescopes.

As a participant of SKYSCAPE - Experience Starry Nights I am your qualified Stargazing Guide.

All Tours are available in English, and, upon request in Italian and Spanish also.
More information and all dates of Stargazing Tours can be found at www.sternenguide.tirol.

The initiative of the Tyrolean Environmental Ombudsman raises awareness of the issue of light pollution and its problematic consequences for people and the environment.

The short film "Lost in Light" by Sriram Murali impressively shows the thought-provoking difference between light pollution level 8 (big city) and Level 1 (unpopulated area).
